The original design was modeled off of the SAA Colt and introduced in 1953 with the single six. The Panel Alignment Pin is in theoriginal location as the XR3 Old Model. A small Modification is required to the trigger spring on the XR3 because of the shorter placement
of the top of the back strap to the main frame. The XR3 is an eighth of an inch shorter between the back of the main frame and the thumb
web of your hand than the XR3-Red. The trigger spring stud had to be moved forward .100 thousandths to mimic the shape properly and
have enough platen for the grip panel to rest on!THIS NOT A COPY of the New Vaquero Ruger XR3 released in 2004. They are similar but, the pin hole for panel alignment had to be moved
a small amount to accommodate the new trigger lock mechanism.
The XR3 STG Requires a standard Black Hawk Trigger!
The Bisley Trigger Guard Can be ordered as an option. It will sit 3/16ths of an inch further forward allowing more Knuckle clearance as well as for larger fingers!
